Moussaka with potatoes

This easy dish is made with sliced potatoes, layered with minced meat and veggies, which add a welcomed sweetness, and topped with creamy béchamel and cheese. What a comforting and rich-tasting meal!

For the Béchamel:
white wheat flour
50 g
salt
1 pinch
milk
1 l
butter
50 g
nutmeg
1 pinch

Подготовка

  1. Peel and cut the potatoes into round slices. Cook the potatoes in salt water until half done.
  2. Meanwhile sauté the onions over some oil. Add ground meat, garlic, chopped carrot, seasoning and stir.
  3. Cube the tomato and add it to the meat. Add tomato paste and pour with 1-2 dl water. Simmer for about 15 minutes.
  4. Prepare the Béchamel sauce. Melt the butter in a small saucepan. Add flour and wait for it to turn yellow. Add milk and stir. Season with salt and nutmeg.
  5. Grease the baking dish and cover the bottom with one layer of sliced potatoes. Spread the meat sauce over it. Add the Béchamel sauce and some grated cheese.
  6. Proceed with the next layers. Add the Béchamel sauce and sprinkle the grated cheese more generously over the last layer.
